Powered
by the Bravia 2 Pro Engine and featuring Sony’s
Triluminos three-color LED backlight technology,
the new 1080p KDL-55XBR8 and KDL-46XBR8, which
offer 55” and 46” sized screens
respectively, sport 10-bit processing, Advanced
Contrast Enhancer PRO (ACE PRO) and Sony’s
120Hz Motionflow technology, the latter serving
to remove ‘judder’ to improve picture
clarity whilst working to double existing frame
rates from 60 to 120 - thus improving picture
quality when viewing fact paced action scenes
such as sports - and x.v.Color compatibility
which, according to Sony, ‘expands the
potential color data range of video by about
1.8 times, resulting in the display of more
natural and vivid colors similar to what the
human eye can actually see.’
Additionally,
Sony’s Digital Media Extender (DMeX) is
also on offer allowing for ease of expandability
and the addition of new features by offering
compatibility with RAVIA DVD Link, the BRAVIA
Wireless link, the BRAVIA Input Link (due to
ship later this year) and the currently available
BRAVIA Internet Video Link. Sony’s Digital
Media Port (DMP) compatibility also puts in
an appearance – allowing ease of connectivity
with portable media devices, such as iPods and
Sony’s Walkmans, as well as USB flash
memory drives.
