Get 1080p HDTV Resolution in Samsung DLP TVs
Get every pixel the highest of the high definition
TV formats has to offer with Samsung's HLR6768W
67" 1080p native resolution widescreen
HDTV television set. This DLP (Digital Light
Processing) TV is capable of displaying all
2,073,600 pixels in its 1920 x 1080p format.
That's more than twice the resolution of the
720p (1280 x 720) format. So what happened to
the 1080i
(i for interlaced) format? 1080p (p for progressive)
goes it one better.
Although both 1080i and 1080p offer the identical
1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, the interlaced
format first paints the odd-numbered lines of
resolution on the screen, followed in a fraction
of a second by the even-numbered lines. The
progressive scan format displays all the lines
of resolution sequentially in a single pass,
making for a smoother, cleaner image, with reduced
flicker. The days of diminished picture quality
on larger screen TVs are history. With top-of-the-line
high definition video conversion, Samsung's
HLR6768W turns programming of any format into
a captivating, theatre-quality experience.
Features
Cinema Smooth 1080p Gen 6 Light Engine
Samsung's Cinema Smooth light engine brings
together the right optics, electronic circuitry
and replaceable light source to create a brilliant
picture that's more lifelike and much closer
film.Samsung's sixth generation (Gen-6) Cinema
Smooth light engines release the maximum power
of DLP microdisplays for a remarkably film-like
picture.
Faster Color Wheel
Samsung's 2.6" color wheel spins at 10,800
rpm for smooth fast motion video, and has seven
color segments for more accurate colors. It
achieves film-like transitions without pixel
breakup found in slower color wheel designs
and slower switching LCD microdisplays. Air
Bearing technology also makes it whisper quiet.
Next Generation DLP Chips
Samsung's DLP TVs employ the latest Digital
Micromirror Devices (DMD). These new-generation
microdisplays have switching speeds twice as
fast as previous generations and up to 1,000
times faster than competing microdisplay technologies.
When combined with Samsung's new Cinema Smooth
1080p light engine, the result is a crisp, bright
picture with deep, rich colors that are closer
to film.
