The Boston Acoustics HS 460 is sold as a single speaker, allowing you to use two as the main left and right speakers in both a stereo and a multi-channel system. They can also be mixed and matched with other Horizon Series speakers, such as the HS40, HS50, HS60, or HS225.

The speaker cabinet is made of molded ABS plastic with a "Soft Touch" finish. They are internally braced with MDF to eliminate resonance. This unique design includes a handle molded into the rear of the cabinet to make the speaker easy to carry around and position.

Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design (RBDD): The front baffle is gently curved both vertically and horizontally to give you a wider, smoother dispersion.

The HS 460 speaker is equipped with a removable Onyx (black) cloth grille.

The Boston Personal Option Plan (P.O.P.) allows you to match your environment with optional grilles in multiple colors for the Horizon series speakers. In addition to the Onyx (black) grille that comes with the speaker, you can purchase grilles in Glacier, Chocolat, Rose Bud, Chili Pepper, Silver, Caramel, or Pearl Gray. These optional grilles are available directly from the manufacturer.

The HS 460 uses a 1" Kortec soft dome tweeter for crystal clear high frequencies and a dual 6-1/2" copolymer woofers. The speaker features Boston's Deep Channel Design technology to give you more bass with less amplifier power. Rubber surrounds are used for added durability. In addition to the dual 6-1/2" drivers, the speaker includes dual matching 6-1/2" passive radiators. The passive radiators also have rubber surrounds.

The HS 460's Maximized Bass Output System includes a rear-firing port to improve the bass acoustics. The port is 6" deep, 4" wide and 2" high.

Gold-plated Binding Posts: The wire terminals are gold-plated, 5-way binding posts, allowing you to connect the speaker wire using dual banana plugs, single banana plugs, pin connectors, spade terminals, or bare wire. Bare wire up to 12 gauge fits through the binding posts.
